Best Cat Condos and Cat Scratchers

If you own a cat, then you know that most of them like to sleep in boxes or bags or anything that they can squeeze themselves into. They also like to scratch and claw things. My cat (whose name is Shadow by the way) use to think that my chairs were a scratching post. I know it is only natural for them to dig their claws into things, but my chairs on the other hand were not so happy. 

I have to admit that Shadow is one of the craziest animals that I have ever had. He will jump off walls, go flying around the house at 100 miles per hour and carry stuffed animals around in his mouth. He is something else. He really loves to climb as well. But he would use his claws to climb up my wicker furniture. I was not very pleased with that.

He is a bit of a mischief. I will tell you a short story. One day he was flying around the house as usual. (By the way, I took away the catnip, which did not help.) I am sitting on the floor watching TV and he stops in front of me, so I look at him and say, “what’s the matter Shadow?” All of a sudden he smacked me across the face with his paw and ran away. I do not know what I did to him to make him smack me in the face, but I could not help but laugh. It was quite funny.

So I decided that I needed something to keep him occupied, allow him to release all his energy and keep him from scratching my chairs to pieces. I started to look into cat condos.

Cat condos are great for all cats. It gives them the privacy that they like, as well as scratching posts and toys to keep them occupied. You no longer have to worry about your furniture being used as a jungle gym. They come in all different shapes and sizes depending on your cat’s needs. Some cats are much calmer than others are so they will not need a really big one. But other cats like mine need to run jump and play.

Does Shadow still run around the house like a madman. Of course he does, that is just how he is, playful. But he no longer climbs all over my poor furniture, and that makes a big difference!
