There are literally thousands of Clubs, Bars and Lounges to choose from. The good thing is, you can find one that suits your taste. Even if you do not enjoy going out to bars or clubs, you can just walk around and enjoy the people. You will always find interesting people. There are also shows, plays or comedy clubs you can attend. Restaurants and shops are either open all night or really late. New York is the city that never sleeps!

#3 The transit system

I did not know how much I really liked buses and trains until I did not have any around. I have a car, but it is very convenient to just jump on a train or a bus and go where you need to go. I do have buses where I am living now, but they run only once an hour. In NY the buses and trains run consistently so even if you miss one, there will be another shortly. It saves a lot of money on parking and gas and you do not have to worry about a designated driver if you are going out drinking.

#4 Shopping

If you want a variety of shops, then NY is the place for you. You can find any store imaginable. Whether you are looking for your average department store or really unique items, you are bound to find it. I also love the fact that they have street vendors. You do not even have to enter a store to shop. The streets are like one big Flea Market.
